B. Braun New Ventures is a Corporate Start-Up based in Freiburg, Germany and takes a lead role in the digital transformation of healthcare. With a young and fast-growing team, we develop solutions to automate medical procedures across various business areas. Our goal is to augment caregivers' eyes, hands and decision making with sensors, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Our cloud platform team is focused on creating corporate-wide solutions that will drive the next generation of B. Braun's digital products and connected devices. The technologies and products we develop create new treatment possibilities, enable sharing of clinical experience, and result in better patient care.

In this scope we are searching for a User Experience Engineer (f/m/d) to work within the R&D team.

Duties and responsibilities

• You drive the operational user experience principles and engineering tasks for innovative digital and physical products
• You develop functional coded cross device prototypes for continuous user reviews
• You create and perform qualitative and quantitative user tests and derive new and changing user requirements out of the findings
• You work in a dynamic and agile team collaborating with other UX-engineers, UX/UI designers, researchers as well as with developers, software architects, system engineers and product owners 
• You are a key member of the cloud platform team and work on existing and new design system standards while focusing on testing and coding that provides the foundation a range of scalable applications
• You define methods, techniques, tools and principles in the user experience engineering environment
• You offer mentorship and support to inquiring minds, helping them to grow and develop professionally

Professional competencies

• You are a passionate UX-engineer with several years of industry experience
• You can solve complex, multi-factorial usability, accessibility problems
• You are capable of conceptual, open-minded, creative, and high aptitude for process-oriented and structured progress
• You have strength in testing techniques, analysis, presentations, and explaining the impact of test findings for the product
• You are familiar with frontend frameworks (such as Angular, Vue, React or similar)
• You have a proficient hands-on experience with tools, such as Visual Studio Code, analytics tools, Usabilityhub, UserTesting, Adobe XD and others
• You have proficient knowledge in lean UX and agile development such as SCRUM would be a plus
• You have experience with common infrastructure-as-code tools
• You have skills in UX-research, UX-writing and UX/UI-design would be a plus
• You have working experience in the healthcare industry or in a comparable field would be a plus

• You are a proactive, results-oriented and customer-centric personality with analytical and problem-solving skills
• You work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, encourage collaboration, also virtual one and mutual support
• You are self-motivated and you have a hands-on mentality
• You have a passion for data driven design and a desire to continuously learn and grow
• You stay productive and capable of acting in critical situations
• You communicate clearly and responsibly in German and English
